provides the ability to poll (collect) sales data, transmit the PLU files and other store system files via common protocols, FTP and Async. The system also supports legacy protocols for Fujitsu asynchronous and bisynchronous. PSSPOLL was designed to support through "plug and play" drivers a growing list of POS vendors with an emphasis on usability and convenience. The software can also be used by non-programming support staff.
PSSPOLL consists of a series of modules and reports that allow the POS support staff to closely monitor all aspects of the polling process. Support for remote access is also provided such that pss can access the poller, upon request, to perform maintenance or upgrading functions. PSSPOLL modules include:
Store Files: This is where the store phone numbers and demographic information is kept. Menu support for the addition, deletion, editing of the telephone numbers, store address, manager's name, polling times, etc., are easily accessed.
Calendar: This allows you to maintain the schedule that is used to send and receive files. Specific functionality can be assigned to specific days of each week to allow data collecting, downloading, receiving print files, and uploading files up to twice per day.
Store Report: This contains the store file information that can be sorted by either store number or by region.
Calendar Report: This lets you print out the schedule that will be used to send and receive files.
Queue Report: This prints a report that shows you, by detail or by summary, a specific job, a range of jobs, or all of the jobs waiting to be executed.
Polling Statistics: This reports on the number of stores to be polled, the actual functions to be performed, the number of retries, the job numbers, and the status of the polling sessions.
PSSPOLL also supports the printing of the pss audit log which is a computer audit trail that provides detailed information of all of the processes.
