pss polls each retail store. The data is converted to a specified format and electronically transmitted to the corporate network for processing and assimilation. From this data the retailer provides sales and financial reports to corporate management. SKUs and PLUs generated within the retailer's network are electronically provided to the pss server. This data is then delivered to the stores for use on a daily basis.

pss has developed an effective alternative to buying, installing, maintaining, and staffing an expensive full scale point of sale system or computer polling system.

The pss Service Bureau program provides you with a full scale POS software system, polling services, PLU maintenance, report generation, file transfer of the raw or reformatted Daily Transaction Files, as well as 24/7 POS help desk support for a set monthly fee.

Both a Windows NT (GUI, supports third party packages) and IBM OS/2 (character based, mature, extremely stable) POS system platforms are supported, depending upon your corporate orientation and budget. The POS hardware is typically purchased, leased, or rented in conjunction with the Service Bureau program. Both refurbished and new, state of the art POS hardware is available.

pss supports the polling of both POS systems at the store level or remote portable data terminals (PDTs). Both systems can be polled during the day and night and throughout North America. pss supports both temporary and ongoing polling services for short term equipment rental, retail MIS department augmentation, or long term system support.

pss has currently expanded our Service Bureau Program. We have partnered up with Merton3 on this new venture. This Program is known as 123 Service Bureau. pss is very excited about this program and is looking forward to working with the Merton3 Team.

  • Processing Data: We import and process your sales data at the close of business each day. This data updates your "data warehouse" and becomes the source of all reports.

  • Sales Reporting: Our suite of reports provides totals by department, store, register, and salesperson. Summary and detail reports are also available. The reports are transmitted daily via email or are available over the Internet.

  • Inventory Reporting: We provide a data entry mechanism over the Internet for input on stock moves, receipts and other transactions that are not part of your normal sales processing. We will create and maintain stock information and provide inventory reporting using this information, in conjunction with your sales data.
